Chewed or Chipped? Who made the Neanderthal Flute? Humans Or Carnivores?
Listing of evidence (as of Dec., 2006) showing the 50,ooo year-old Neanderthal flute was no accident, and is a flute with unique hole spacings that match a four-note diatonic (do, re, mi, fa) sequence. This would represent the earliest known diatonic sequence found, and provides further confirmation of the theory explaining the origin of the widest known scales -- pentatonic and diatonic -- found in the work "Origin of Music" (http://www.greenwych.ca/og-ez.htm) by Bob Fink.
